| Well vintage is in full swing!
This season has been challenging due to cooler ripening conditions during January and February but we are now enjoying a typical indian summer here in Waipara, New Zealand. This has resulted in enabling us to harvest the fruit as it reaches full maturity. The harvesting of Pinot Noir from Waipara and Marlborough will completed this week but the Sauvignon Blanc will continue for another two weeks.
We have a great atmosphere in the winery as we enjoy the inputs from our overseas interns from France and Germany, Guillaume, Ophelie and Matthias. The team is busy with pressing, plunging the pinot noir, racking the juices, adding yeast to the ferments and monitoring them.
Mark Jones is on a sales visit to Auckland and Hamilton this week. The winery has taken over wine sales and distribution from Dhall and Nash directly into the North Island. Mark will be jetting off to Europe and Asia at the beginning of May and then he will attend the New Zealand Wine Growers Trade Show in Shanghai in July.
