Wine to match spicy food |
Misconception that it is difficult to match spicy food and wine
In fact wine and spicy food are a great match
Thai food matches Riesling and Gewurtstraminer
Riesling has similiar fruit characters to what is common in Thai food lemons/ginger/delicate and floral with the good acidity this really enhances all those same flavours that are in the food which is what good wine shouls do - enhance or accentuate the food flavours
Gewurtztraminer has spicy ginger and rose petal characters - again great with with spicy Thai
Curry and red wine work very well together particully the tomato/onion based curries
