Winemakers Notes
The Stratum 2006 Merlot Cabernet is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet and smaller amounts of Pinot Noir and Malbec. The fruit was sourced from Marlborough and Hawkes Bay.The selected parcels of fruit were individually fermented and barrel aged for 12 months prior to blending and bottling.
The Stratum 2006 Merlot Cabernet displays rich, red berry fruit aromas with hits of dark chocolate and spicy oak. The palate is full bodied and concentrated with a complex, rounded finish.
A wine to be enjoyed over the next 2-5 years.
